Job Description

Job Title: Quality Inspector (Electronics)

Role and Responsibilities

  • Perform and document inspections of products and processes, including electronic cables, GPS devices, Wi-Fi dongles, connectors, mechanical enclosures, shields, and other critical components.
  • Conduct inspections related to receiving raw materials, parts, components, and perform fit checks as required.
  • Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.
  • Prepare accurate and complete in-process inspection reports.
  • Maintain quality records and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Identify the serviceability of parts, components, and appropriate tooling.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience inspecting electronic parts and components.
  • Proficiency using inspection tools such as multimeters, calipers, micrometers, and microscopes.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic schematics, including those related to PCBs and PWAs.
  • Ability to read and interpret part documentation, including blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and other communication systems.
  • Ability to maintain clear, accurate, and organized records.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must meet U.S. Person requirements (U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to work associated with U.S. federal contracts.
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-J-STD-610, IPC-620, or IPC-001.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of processes and procedures.
  • Ability to remain flexible and responsive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage competing deadlines and workloads effectively.
  • Proactive in identifying potential risks or challenges and communicating them to appropriate stakeholders.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Occasional exposure to heat and cold.
  • Physical requirements include:
    • Bending and reaching to place or retrieve items from various shelf heights.
    • Kneeling or squatting to access lower storage areas.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when receiving incoming part shipments.
    • Walking and moving throughout laboratory or production environments.
